Objective To investigate the level of self-advocacy ability of female breast cancer patients with chemotherapy, and to analyze its influencing factors,so as to provide references for clinical implementation of targeted intervention. Methods A total of 240 breast cancer patients with chemotherapy were investigated by general data questionnaire,Female Self-Advocacy in Cancer Survivorship Scale,Social Support Rating Scale, and Sense of Coherence Scale. Results The self-advocacy score of 240 breast cancer chemotherapy patients was(68.89±10.66);there was a positive correlation between self-advocacy and social support(r=0.723,P<0.001);it was also positively correlated with the sense of coherence(r=0.569,P<0.001). The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that age, educational level, social support and the sense of coherence were the influential factors of self-advocacy ability of breast cancer patients with chemotherapy, which explained 61.4% of the total variation. Conclusion The self-advocacy ability of breast cancer patients with chemotherapy is at medium level, and there are some problems in self-decision-making,effective communication with medical staff and seeking social support. Medical staff should pay attention to patients with advanced age and low education level, and help patients improve their sense of coherence and their ability to obtain and use social support,so as to improve the level of self-advocacy of patients.

Objective To systematically review the shared decision-making experience of elderly patients with end-stage renal disease. Methods We searched databases including PsycINFO,PubMed,Embase,CINAHL and CNKI,CBM,WanFang Data from the inception to June 2021. The quality of included studies was evaluated according to JBI Critical Appraisal Tool for qualitative studies in Australia. The results were integrated by integrating methods. Results A total of 13 studies were included. 36 complete findings were grouped into 8 categories according to their similarities. These categories resulted in 3 synthesized findings:sharing decision-making information support and communication practices, the patient’s decision-making dilemma and psychological trajectory,risk-return competition decision and influencing factors. Conclusion Medical staff should pay attention to the decision-making experience of elderly patients with end-stage renal disease, fully consider their goals, values, and preferences,in order to promote patient-centered shared decision-making.

Chinese Journal of Nursing    2020, 55 (11): 1648-1652.   DOI: 10.3761/j.issn.0254-1769.2020.11.008
Abstract479)   HTML3)    PDF (773KB)(13)       Save

Objective This study aims to explore the real self-management experience of cancer patients after chemotherapy on home fall prevention and to identify influencing factors of implementing self-management on home fall prevention,so as to provide references for the further construction of intervention strategies. Methods The purpose sampling method was used, and a total of 20 cancer patients treated with chemotherapy were interviewed by semi-structured in-depth interviews. Themes were identified and analyzed by Nancy phenomenological method. Results The overall ability of cancer patients after chemotherapy to prevent falls at home is poor. After chemotherapy, cancer patients had problems with the knowledge about self-management of home fall prevention, the skills of home fall prevention and poor compliance of self-management. The themes, including the hopelessness for disease recovery, the lack of information on prevention of falls at home and limited condition, were found to be the most common barriers for implementing fall prevention measures, while the support from nurses/family members and strongly healthy responsibility were motivating factors for patients to prevent falls at home. Conclusion Understanding the perception of home fall prevention for chemotherapy patients provides the information for education of fall prevention and assists nurses to form strategies and measures to promote patients safety.

Objective To explore effects of application of the rectal cancer surgery decision aid in patients with rectal cancer. Methods A total of 63 patients hospitalized for rectal cancer surgery from June to December,2016, were recruited as the control group, and 63 patients admitted from January to June, 2017, were enrolled as the intervention group. The intervention group received the content of the rectal cancer surgery decision aid apart from routine nursing, while the control group only received routine nursing. Results The correct response rate of rectal cancer surgery decision knowledge in the intervention group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). The level of decision conflict in the intervention group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). More than 92% of the patients in the intervention group believed the decision aid could improve their decision preparation. Conclusion The rectal cancer surgery decision aid can effectively improve the surgical knowledge of rectal cancer patients, reduce their decision conflict, and improve their decision preparation.
